I am a Harvard College graduate and University of Wisconsin-Madison PhD with more than a decade of experience teaching high school students. I am also a former D1 athlete and New Balance-sponsored runner. In writing as in running, I understand this: It’s about the long game.
As an admissions essay coach, I lead students and their families through the application writing process with skill, clarity, and empathy. Crafting a vivid, memorable personal statement and supplemental essays is not only possible—it is a vital differentiator for applicants in an age of AI authorship. Students: Let’s work together to hone your written voice, building your self-confidence as a vivid you emerges on the page.
I prioritize a disciplined writing process as a path to strong, vivid written products.
Strengths-based approach.
Each student has core strengths and challenges. We work together to uncover them, and to explore their role in the application process.
Feedback with integrity.
I never use AI to write feedback, and I protect the privacy of student writing in all stages of the process.
Self-reflection is an evergreen skill.
The application process can be disempowering, but it also presents an opportunity for self-reflection. I help students hone in on self-knowledge to guide future life stages.
